From long island to Lexington....

Hi, I'm Meghan Loyer, the founder of Blessed Beginnings Doula Care. My passion for doula work began on Long Island, NY, with the birth of my son in 2017. Early in my pregnancy, I sought the guidance of a doula whose support transformed my fears into confidence. Her wisdom and compassion guided me through a seamless, textbook labor, resulting in a beautiful birth experience.

However, postpartum life brought unexpected challenges, including depression, anxiety, and psychosis. This experience ignited a deep desire within me to support other women through their own unique journeys which led me to becoming certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula as well as a Certified Birth Educator and Lactation Specialist.  I was able to enjoy my time and work on Long Island for a few years before moving down south.

After moving to Lexington, SC, my passion for doula care only grew. When I became pregnant with my daughter, I faced a challenging pregnancy filled with morning sickness, a hemorrhage, bed rest and the heartbreaking loss of my mother. My daughter, a posterior baby, presented a unique set of challenges during labor. My doula’s expertise in positioning and comfort techniques was crucial in helping me avoid a C-section and bring my daughter safely into the world. Yet another ode to the benefits of having such an amazing support person by your side!

One of the biggest reasons I became a doula is because I know firsthand what it feels like to be fully prepared for pregnancy and birth—but completely unprepared for what comes after. During my first pregnancy, I poured myself into learning everything about labor and delivery, but I didn’t give much thought to postpartum. That lack of preparation left me feeling overwhelmed and isolated. Now, as a doula, I'm deeply passionate about balancing the education I provide—offering not just guidance through pregnancy and birth, but also compassionate, thorough support for the postpartum period. I believe every parent deserves to enter this sacred season with confidence, clarity, and a strong foundation of resources and knowledge.

These experiences have fueled my dedication to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I am committed to empowering women with knowledge, compassion, and personalized care.

Let’s create your blessed beginning together!
